How Demo Works
Have you ever thought about where your favorite electronics are from? Sure, it probably list where the product is made on the back. But did you know there are many hands from across the globe that go into making your device. And not all these hands work freely. This may mean that your favorite electronics may be contributing to humanitarian injustices of forced labor, child labor, smuggling and rape. Rebels and militia are using profits from the sale of these minerals to perpetuate conflict. But all hope is not lost!
We at ConflictFreeElectronics are spreading the word about conflict minerals and how to make elctronics conflict free. This includes providing information about smelters, mines, refiners and processors that have committed to be conflict-free via our online platform. Our online platform, currently in development, is a way to get conflict-free status information at your fingertips. Also, be sure to follow us on Twitter and Facebook @ConflictFreeEle.
The following demo is available to get you acclimated to the platform. To get started with the demo follow the steps below.
STEP 1: Enter the type of mineral, smelter and/or location you seeking to find out conflict free status.
- Try it out now! For example enter Tantalum or China in the search terms box below. A list of the gold smelters, refiners and processors currently available in our database will be provide.
STEP 2: Click on status to learn about your search results conflict free status.
STEP 3: For full detailed searches, results and downloadable files, you will need to sign up for a beta plan. During our development phase we have made all plans free for your review.
